pSTAKE Finance is an innovative Bitcoin yield and liquid staking protocol, backed by Binance Labs. Through pSTAKE Finance, users can liquid stake BTC to get rewards from Babylon's Trustless BTC staking for securing other app chains while maintaining their liquidity, powered by institutional custody providers like Cobo.

Accessing Bitcoin yields should not be complex, risky, or unsafe. With four years of liquid staking expertise and expert-curated yield strategies, pSTAKE Finance helps individuals and institutions put their BTC to work in BTCfi.

To ensure security, pSTAKE Finance has partnered with leading blockchain security firms, such as Halborn, Hexens, Oak Security, Immunefi, Forta, and more, to deliver a secure liquid staking product suite.

PSTAKE is the governance and incentivization token of the pSTAKE Finance protocol. It has some of the most prominent investors, including Binance Labs, DeFiance Capital, Spartan Group, Coinbase Ventures, and DeFiance Capital. Through staking, PSTAKE can now be deposited to generate direct BTC yield.

# About pSTAKE Staking

An Introduction to $PSTAKE Staking

Welcome to **pSTAKE Staking** - a transparent staking program for pSTAKE holders to deposit tokens and earn Bitcoin yields in return for active community and governance participation.

This staking initiative is very simple; *you stake PSTAKE, you get BTC.*

Participants deposit BTC to generate pSATS (pSTAKE Points), which can be converted into BTC derivatives (e.g. wBTC, cbBTC etc.) at the end of each season.

New to the Bitcoin Ecosystem? Learn more about pSTAKE, Babylon, and Bitcoin Liquid Staking [here](https://blog.pstake.finance/bitcoin-liquid-staking/).

For an in-depth guide on how to stake $PSTAKE, take a look at [this tutorial](https://blog.pstake.finance/2024/11/28/how-to-stake-pstake-tokens-to-generate-btc-rewards/).

{% hint style="info" %}
Users participating in pSTAKE staking that hold 0.05 YBTC can generate more yield. Click [here](https://blog.pstake.finance/2024/10/17/introducing-ybtc-by-pstake-yield-optimized-bitcoin-lst-on-babylon/) to learn more about YBTC

# Why Introduce PSTAKE Staking?

Understanding the objectives of pSTAKE Staking.

The PSTAKE staking product is designed to drive community engagement and encourage active participation in governance for the pSTAKE Protocol. This initiative empowers token holders to play a more significant role in shaping the future of the ecosystem while earning BTC rewards.

## **Key Objectives of pSTAKE Staking:**

#### 1) Drive Community Engagement

By introducing staking opportunities, the aim is to foster greater interaction within the community. Staking pSTAKE enables users to actively contribute to the protocol’s growth while earning rewards, reinforcing their role as integral members of the ecosystem.

#### 2) Boost Governance Participation

pSTAKE staking will be used as a gateway for users to engage in governance decisions, ensuring that the protocol evolves in alignment with the community’s vision. This initiative underscores the importance of user input, so active governance involvement will be rewarded.

#### 3) Seasonal Rewards for Active Participation

Participants can earn BTC rewards at the end of each season, provided they complete the required tasks for that season. This approach promotes ongoing participation and ensures rewards align with meaningful contributions to the protocol.

# What are pSATS?

Find out everything about pSATS points.

pSATS are pSTAKE points in the context of pSTAKE Staking. Its key attributes include:

* pSATS are just balances in a database (not onchain tokens) associated with a particular wallet address.
* pSATS are non-transferable.
* pSATS can be converted into SATS at the end of each season, distributed as BTC derivatives upon claim.

{% hint style="info" %}
Note: pSATS ***will not*** carry over to the next season. Rewards must be claimed within a certain claim window.
{% endhint %}

# Glossary

Keywords and definitions.

**pSats:** The name for points in the context of pSTAKE Staking

**PSTAKE:** pSTAKE Finance’s governance and incentivization token.

**Staking:** Locking PSTAKE tokens into the staking product to generate BTC yield.

**Seasons:** Epochs for distributing rewards to stakers, lasting two weeks each, with 26 seasons annually.

**Staking Caps:** The maximum amount of PSTAKE allowed to be staked at one particular time.

**Yields:** Rewards generated through staking. All pSTAKE Staking rewards are provided in pSATS, which are converted into SATS and delivered as BTC derivatives (wBTC, cbBTC, etc.)

# Staking Overview

Understanding the mechanism behind staking.

To participate in pSTAKE Staking, users must deposit PSTAKE into the staking module.

All staking and unstaking actions are conducted on the Base and can be executed anytime. Before staking, participants will be required to bridge PSTAKE tokens to the Base network. To learn how to bridge to Base, please [follow this guide](https://blog.pstake.finance/2024/05/16/how-to-bridge-pstake-to-base-chain-user-guide/).

{% hint style="info" %}
NOTE: There is a minimum staking amount of 100 $PSTAKE.
{% endhint %}

Rewards are distributed across consecutive two-week season epochs.

Immediate reward generation occurs upon staking, but unstaking during a season forfeits a portion of the rewards generated.

Users will not be required to unstake after one season ends and another begins.

It is important to note that each season will have a staking cap, dictating the maximum amount of PSTAKE that can be staked. The Staking Cap will be announced before each season starts, and users will need to be quick to participate in that particular season.<br>

# Reward Details

Understanding the BTC reward details.

All rewards are paid in a BTC derivative (e.g., cbBTC, wBTC, etc.) at the end of each season.

Users are required to claim their rewards within a specific time window (currently set at three days) after each season ends to claim BTC yield.

Staking accumulates pSATS, which are automatically converted into BTC when a user claims their rewards (see the Yield Calculation Methodology section for more details)

The distribution of pSATS during the staking period is allocated in two separate pools as follows:

* 80% of pSATS to all users staking PSTAKE
* 20% of pSATS to PSTAKE Stakers holding at least 0.05 YBTC.

As a result, users that have deposited BTC into the pSTAKE Finance BTC Liquid Staking solution (min 0.05 BTC) will generate a higher allocation of pSATS and, therefore, BTC yields.

The following table demonstrates allocations for users:

| User Journey            | <p><br></p>         |                     |                  |
| ----------------------- | ------------------- | ------------------- | ---------------- |
| Has PSTAKE (not staked) | Has PSTAKE (staked) | Holds yBTC (+=0.05) | <p><br></p>      |
| Yes                     | Yes                 | Yes                 | 100% Reward Pool |

# Yield Calculation Methodology

Find out how yields are calculated

Rewards are distributed on a seasonal basis, with users able to claim BTC rewards at the end of each season.

While staking, users generate pSATS, which are converted to SATS at a pre-set exchange rate defined for the season. The pSATS are tied to an equivalent value in the BTC derivative in SATS.

For transparency, rewards for each season are sent to a distribution address before each season begins.

Remember, the allocation for rewards is as follows:

* 80% of pSATS will be allocated to all users staking PSTAKE
* 20% of pSATS will be allocated to users staking PSTAKE and holding at least 0.05 YBTC.

All rewards are distributed proportionally based on the amount of PSTAKE you have staked.

At the end of each season, users can convert their accumulated pSATS to BTC derivatives at the pre-set exchange rate defined for the season. Users must claim rewards within the time window following the season's end.

pSATS will not carry over into a new season!

# FAQs

Most frequently asked questions.

1. **Why do YBTC holders generate more pSATS?**

YBTC is our Liquid Staking Token for those depositing BTC into the pSTAKE Liquid Staking module. YBTC provides users with additional rewards from a separate rewards pool, increasing the amount of pSATS generated.

2. **How to generate the most yield?**

Stake PSTAKE AND hold 0.05 YBTC

Step 1: Head to pSTAKE Finance and deposit BTC (min 0.05 BTC deposit)

Step 2: Mint YBTC

Step 3: Stake PSTAKE from the same wallet holding YBTC

Step 4: Enjoy BTC yield from both rewards pools.

3. **Are there fees?**

There are no fees for using the product. However, there may be some network fees incurred when claiming BTC.

4. **Can I Withdraw?**

You can withdraw PSTAKE anytime, but will forfeit rewards if you withdraw during the season.

5. **How Many Seasons Will There Be?**

Seasons will continue running throughout the staking campaign. Each Season is 2 weeks long.

6. **How to Claim?**

Users must claim their rewards within three days of each season’s close. To claim, head to the staking dashboard and hit “Claim.” Any unclaimed rewards after three days will be forfeited.

7. **Wen Launch?**

We are live as of November 28, 2024.

8. **Are Rewards Really in BTC?**

Yes, all rewards are sent to users in a BTC derivative. Users accumulate pSATS (pSTAKE Points) while staking, which are converted into SATS and distributed as a BTC derivative (cbBTC, wBTC, etc).

9. **Where Do Rewards Come From?**

Initially, the pSTAKE staking yield will be bootstrapped by the protocol, offering a solid APY.

Although nominal rewards will start small, they will grow as rewards transition into being funded by revenue generated through the Liquid Staking Token (LST) & additional CeDeFi strategies.

# Introduction

SatDrop is pSTAKE's Points Program where participants can complete Onchain and Offchain tasks to get 'pSats' that can be converted into $PSTAKE tokens in the future.

This section gives an overview of what SatDrop is, how it differs from other Points Programs in the past, and takes you through the keywords and terminologies you need to understand.

New to the Bitcoin Ecosystem? Learn more about pSTAKE, Babylon, and Bitcoin Liquid Staking [here](https://blog.pstake.finance/bitcoin-liquid-staking/).

# About SatDrop

Welcome to pSTAKE’s SatsDrop—a points program with transparency at its heart 🧡\
\
SatDrop is a unique initiative aimed at:

1. Onboarding the core Bitcoin Community to pSTAKE
2. Fostering exclusive user engagement
3. Driving Bitcoin deposits on pSTAKE
4. Having fun along the way

SatDrop participants can complete on-chain and off-chain tasks to earn ‘pSats’ (points) and convert them into $PSTAKE tokens in the future. SatDrop will have multiple seasons, with the first one kicking off in the coming days.

With Babylon's recent launch, BTCfi is at the center of crypto and DeFi today. pSTAKE will aim to stake as much BTC as possible from its BTC deposits into Babylon’s cap. pSTAKE will distribute Babylon Points pro rata to all its users to ensure fairness and inclusivity.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important Note:** There is a prerequisite to participate in the SatDrop. All participants must have staked the minimum BTC deposited by pSTAKE (0.005 BTC) to access the SatDrop dashboard to view their pSats and complete other tasks.\
\
This prerequisite helps filter out Sybil attacks and gives all participants a more curated, transparent experience.
{% endhint %}

By staking BTC with pSTAKE, users get the following advantages:

1. Receiving Babylon Points
2. Receiving pSats (pSTAKE points)
3. Overcoming Babylon’s max stake limit
4. Not worrying about high Bitcoin network fees
5. Having a better chance of getting in Babylon’s Cap

Stay tuned in the pSTAKE community for the latest updates.

# How is SatDrop different from other Points Programs?

***Tl;dr: More Transparency of Rewards and Managing Participants’ Expectations accordingly***

### Background

Traditionally, points programs are brilliant ways to bootstrap on-chain and off-chain activity for a newly launched protocol. In exchange for the points, participants typically would swap their accumulated points for the new token following the token generation event (TGE).

Considering the facts that the $PSTAKE token’s TGE was in 2021, it trades on leading CEXs and DEXs like OKX, Bybit, Kraken, KuCoin, Bitget, Uniswap, Aerodrome, etc., and is \~95% unlocked, SatDrop significantly differs from other points programs in crypto in terms of rewards and transparency.

### SatDrop Rewards

The pSTAKE protocol governance will allocate a certain % of the $PSTAKE supply as rewards to distribute to SatDrop participants. The total rewards pool ($PSTAKE tokens) will be visible to everyone from the beginning of the SatDrop.

The pSTAKE Team will reveal the exact mechanism for converting pSats to $PSTAKE tokens during a particular Season for complete transparency. This will depend on the total BTC staked with pSTAKE during the season.

### User Research

While deciding the rewards mechanism for SatDrop, we’ve done extensive research by speaking to our existing users, Bitcoin community members, participants of other points programs, KOLs in the space, and more to better understand pain points.

We gathered that the most crucial aspect of any points program is not the gamification element or how it looks. Instead, the most essential aspect relies heavily on the expectation of ‘Efforts:Rewards’ ratio.

The general feedback we received was that this ratio was extremely high. Due to a lack of transparency, people needed to do more work to receive less-than-expected rewards.

With SatDrop, we’re committed to transparency. It provides all participants with a clear understanding of what to expect and the various ways to get rewards.

# SatDrop Details

This section gives an overview of how to get started and get pSats, tasks in SatDrop, how Multipliers work, and how you can get exclusive rewards with Badges.

# Getting Started

{% hint style="warning" %}
{% endhint %}

Getting started with SatDrop is as simple as 1,2,3.

### Step 1

Connect Wallet. pSTAKE currently supports multiple leading Bitcoin Wallets, such as Ledger, Okx Web3, Binance Web3, Unisat, Bitget, Leather, Byband it Web3.

### Step 2

Enter a referral code if you have one.

Deposit a minimum of 0.005 BTC (or more) to unlock the SatDrop dashboard and get access to all tasks.

### Step 3

Complete tasks and unlock badges to get pSats. Climb the leaderboard. Increase your multiplier to get more pSats for completing each task. Repeat.

# How to get pSats?

pSats is the name for points in the context of SatDrop. Let's understand a few important things about pSats first.

* For total transparency, pSats are just balances in a database (not onchain tokens) associated with a particular wallet address.
* pSats are also non-transferable.
* pSats can be converted into $PSTAKE tokens at the end of each season

There are three key ways of receiving pSats:

1. Complete onchain and offchain tasks
2. Unlock badges for exclusive rewards
3. Refer a fren or more

### pSats Calculation Formula

$$
pSats Earned = pSats (task) \* Multiplier
$$

Continue reading ahead to find out about what Multiplier is and how it works.

# What are the tasks?

Once an individual has staked the minimum BTC deposit accepted by pSTAKE (0.005 BTC or more), they can access the SatDrop dashboard to view their existing pSats and complete various tasks to earn more pSats.

Tasks are divided into two main categories: Onchain and Offchain.

# Multipliers and Divisions

### Multiplier Flywheel

Multipliers act as a flywheel for participants by rewarding them with more pSats for being more active and completing tasks in the SatDrop.

1. Complete tasks and unblock badges to get pSats
2. Improve your Rank and climb the Leaderboard
3. Progress into a higher division depending on your relative Rank
4. Increase your Multiplier to get more pSats for completing tasks

$$
pSats Earned = pSats (task) \* Multiplier
$$

### Division Categories

Multipliers are associated with which division you are a part of in the SatDrop.

Now, what are divisions? You are categorized into a division based on your rank in the leaderboard. Simply put, your division is based on where you stand relative to everyone else on the leaderboard.

For eg. If you’re in the Top 1% of the participants, you are in the Bitcoin Division.

There are five such divisions, each with its multiplier. More information about Multipliers and Divisions will be revealed in the coming days.

{% hint style="info" %}
Note: Unlocking specific Badges can give a limited-time multiplier boost substantially higher than the five existing divisions. These badges will primarily be reserved for pSTAKE Early Adopters and pSTAKE Partnerships.
{% endhint %}

# Badges

# SatDrop Referral Program

SatDrop has a Bitcoin Liquid Staking Referral Program baked into it. This allows you to invite your friends so that both of you get more pSats.

### How it works?

SatDrop's Referral Program is a 2-way referral system. Both the *Referrer* as well as the *Referee* will receive pSats upon a successful referral. Win-win.

A successful referral involves the person you have referred staking a minimum of 0.005 BTC with pSTAKE.

Eg. If you invite Satoshi, and Satoshi stakes the minimum (or more) BTC amount on pSTAKE, both you and Satoshi get pSats. Know Satoshi? Feel free to invite them.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Note: Referral Codes can be used only by new community members. If you are an existing pSTAKE user (staked minimum 0.005 BTC), you cannot use someone else's referral code and receive pSats.
{% endhint %}

### How to generate a Referral Code?

You can generate your unique referral code on the SatDrop dashboard and encourage other users to use it before they make their first deposit on pSTAKE.

1. Connect Wallet
2. Stake minimum 0.005 BTC (or more) with pSTAKE to access the SatDrop
3. Head to the SatDrop Dashboard
4. Click on Referrals
5. A referral ID (8 alphanumeric characters) is generated at random and visible to you
6. Copy the referral link and share it with your friends

### Custom Referral Code

If you’re a Content Creator, Community Curator, or KOL with an active Bitcoin Community, we invite you to be an integral part of the SatDrop.

Fill out this short form to get started with your custom referral code - <https://tally.so/r/w2LVog>.

Once you have submitted the form, the pSTAKE team will contact you on Telegram regarding the next steps.

{% hint style="info" %}
After reaching specific milestones of the total number of successful referrals and total referred TVL through your unique referral code, you can unlock specific badges to get exclusive pSats rewards and boosted multipliers.
{% endhint %}

# SatDrop Season End Details

At the end of every season, participants in the SatDrop Campaign will have the option to either:

1. Swap their accumulated pSats for $PSTAKE\*
2. Continue into the next season without swapping and retain their multiplier

{% hint style="danger" %}
\*The pSTAKE Team will reveal the exact mechanism for converting pSats to $PSTAKE tokens during a particular Season for complete transparency. This will depend on the total BTC staked with pSTAKE during the season.
{% endhint %}

Participants that swap their pSats at the end of each season will forfeit their multiplier for the next season. Alternatively, those who continue into the next season without swapping will retain their multiplier.

We’ve worked hard to ensure that SatDrop differs from existing points programs, specifically emphasizing transparency.

That’s all there is to it! Complete Onchain and Offchain tasks, climb that leaderboard to jack up your Multiplier and grab the bragging pSats rights before the end of the SatDrop Season 1.

# Details

In accordance with pSTAKE Finance’s [terms of use](https://pstake.finance/terms) and regulatory considerations, the [pSTAKE dApp](https://app.pstake.finance/), will no longer be accessible from certain jurisdictions after 1 March 2024

The following list of countries has also been geo-blocked with regard to legal and regulatory considerations: Barbados, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gibraltar, Haiti, Iran, Jamaica, North Korea, Mali, Mozambique, Myanmar, Senegal, South Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Cuba, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

***

<details>

<summary><strong>Why is the pSTAKE front-end being geo-blocked?</strong></summary>

Please note that the front-ends will only be geo-blocked and unavailable in the relevant jurisdictions from 1 March 2024. This is done having regard to legal and regulatory considerations. While this would inconvenience certain users of pSTAKE in the short term, we believe, in the future, there may be alternate front-ends hosted by third parties.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>I am a user in one of these jurisdictions; how can I use the pSTAKE app going forward?</strong></summary>

a. The pSTAKE module is open source, and anyone can interact with it even without relying on the front ends.

b. Users can also self-host front-end applications using the publicly available code for the decentralised applications.

c. Use [alternate frontends](/geofencing/alternative-frontends) hosted by validators.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What happens if I fail to withdraw my assets from the application before 1 March 2024 and the ge-blocking kicks into effect?</strong></summary>

Unstaking of stkTokens through the pSTAKE UI will be accessible to users even after 1 March 2024. However, depositing tokens and minting stkTokens and other DeFi applications through the pSTAKE dApp UI will be geo- blocked for regulatory considerations.

For any further concerns, you can reach out for help [here](https://t.me/pstakefinancechat).

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>How do I bridge my PSTAKE from Cosmos to Ethereum and vice versa if I cannot access the pBridge?</strong></summary>

There exist other Gravity Bridge frontends like <https://bridge.blockscape.network/> which you may use to transfer PSTAKE tokens to and from Persistence. It is important to note that PSTAKE tokens ported over to Gravity Chain would first have to be sent to the Persistence Core-1 chain before they can be used within the broader Cosmos ecosystem.
